Hi everyone, my name is Jazz, and I am currently a sophomore at Loyola University Maryland. I am majoring in Visual Arts and minoring in Communication. Since I was a little girl, I have always been artistic. It was not until my senior year in high school that I wanted to be a graphic artist because I thrived in advertising, commercial, and graphic arts classes. Upon arriving to Loyola, I entered in and am currently a Visual Arts: Studio Art major. This covers everything under the sun of art, such as painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, etc. I am pretty good at all of these crafts, however, my heart lies in the field of Graphic Design.
My freshman year at Loyola, I interviewed for the graphics designer position at the Loyola student ran radio station. After receiving a second interview, I was hired for the job! Since then, I have completed tree and a half semesters as WLOY's graphic designer. Every week we host Thursday night events from local band performances, to open mic nights. My job includes producing graphics posters, flyers, digital signage, and anything else that contributes to promoting our events, our logo, and us as a radio station.
I am currently in Introduction to Communication course, which sparked this blog. Every week I will be sharing a personal graphic experience, or sharing something about a famous graphic designer or company. The first graphic I will share is the first graphic project that I completed. It is a graphic self portrait titles "Secrets".
